From Learning to Action: Building Teacher Capacity Through Peer Coaching
Drawing on lessons learned from implementing a peer coaching model at an Ohio elementary school, participants will learn how peer coaching can build teacher capacity and support teachers’ implementation of evidence-based practices. Practical strategies and tools for implementing peer coaching to help educators move from learning to action will be provided and discussed.
Presenter:
Megan Leamon, PhD, is a licensed psychologist in Ohio with a passion for supporting educators and caregivers in the effective implementation of evidence-based practices. She earned her doctorate in School Psychology from the University of Cincinnati and completed her internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Munroe-Meyer Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Leamon currently practices at Akron Children’s Hospital, where she specializes in dyslexia and autism assessment and works to bridge evidence-based practices with meaningful, real-world outcomes for children.

Through regional and district impact stories, this presentation shines a light on the people, partnerships, practices, and progress that transformed grant-supported efforts into meaningful change.
Presenters:
Kristen Brown, Ph.D., Director, Office of Learning Supports/SPDG Project Director. Secured and directed multiple federal education grants totaling more than $50 million, including three SPDG Projects in Colorado and California. Extensive experience leading statewide systems change initiatives.
Rebecca Knighton, Ph.D., Colorado Systems Change Consultant. Former general education Behavioral Interventionist and GT Specialist. Managed multiple systems-level social-emotional grants.
Veronica Starcher, M.A., Colorado Systems Change Consultant. 19 years teaching: elementary music, math/reading interventions, and online courses; 16 years implementing PBIS & co-lead COMTSS.
Katherine Thomson, M.A., Colorado Systems Change Consultant. 9 years teaching in rural Colorado. Middle school language arts teacher, GT/RtI coordinator & COMTSS lead.
