Developing Coaching Systems

The February Directors Webinar highlighted practical approaches to sustaining SPDG work and building statewide capacity. Tom Delaney (Minnesota SPDG) shared “tool of the month” sustainability resources states are using to plan for the long haul. Abby Foley and Dena Slanda introduced the LEAD IDEA Center and its supports for implementation and continuous improvement. Michael Gregory and Erin Sturgis (Virginia DOE) then showcased Virginia’s comprehensive approach to implementing and sustaining MTSS through coordinated SPDG and other grant-funded initiatives.

Members of Maryland's SPDG Leadership Team will share insights, processes, and initial outcomes of their implementation of an operational framework for transformational coaching in support of evidence-based math, social-emotional, and specially designed instruction. The presenters will highlight the ongoing professional learning provided to facilitate the implementation of effective coaching processes.

Cynthia Curry – The National Center on Accessible Digital Educational Materials & Instruction (NCADEMI or “n-cademy”): Cynthia Curry, Project Director at NCADEMI, will provide an overview of the center’s plans to support SEAs and LEAs in meeting the new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II conformance timelines.
