Project Title:  Colorado Multi-Tiered System of Supports
City, State:  Denver, CO
Project Director:  Scott Ross, Ph.D.
Project Director email: ross_s@cde.state.co.us

Purpose

The purpose of this project is to develop an infrastructure for implementing the Colorado Multi-Tiered System of Supports (CO-MTSS) at multiple levels by creating models of successful implementation that can be scaled up across the State. CO-MTSS will help positively impact student outcomes by creating capacity for an integrated academic and behavior support system that can be implemented with fidelity and sustained over time, utilizing data-based decision making at all levels of implementation.

Method

To achieve this purpose, the CO-MTSS project has five goals:  (a) increase State leadership capacity for CO-MTSS implementation; (b) increase regional and district leadership capacity for CO-MTSS implementation and sustainability; (c) increase preschool-12, school level capacity for CO-MTSS through the implementation of evidence-based practices, data-based problem solving, and short-cycle action planning; (d) improve teacher performance in the classroom; and (e) increase family, school, and community partnering.
