Delilah Smith of MiMTSS joined us to share how the Michigan SPDG has integrated SEL into PBIS practices.
Objective: To learn best practices on the implementation, evaluation, and messaging of SEL.
1. Describe concepts related to integrating MH providers into the school’s current PBIS or SEL systems that are in place.
2. List strategies that can assist teachers to reinforce students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
3. Name explicit interventions and supports for MH providers and school staff to work collaboratively.
The systems we will consider are PBIS, trauma-informed practices, creating a culture of wellness for staff and students, and embedding SEL and equity practices.
