This workshop will present the reasoning behind one university’s decision to implement the TeachLive virtual classroom system as an integral part of their special education credential program. TeachLive is a unique avatar-based system that allows new teachers to practice discrete teaching skills in a non-threatening environment with feedback and support from instructors and peers. The purposes and applications of TeachLive will be discussed, supports and challenges will be outlined, and directions for the future will be shared.
