At the June Directors’ Webinar we will take a deeper dive into how to provide effective training, with a focus on content fidelity. Many projects use the Observation Checklist for High Quality Professional Development. This tool assesses fidelity to training processes, such as engaging participants in active practice of new skills or helping participants apply their learning to practice. Dr. Amy Gaumer Erickson and Dr. Pattie Noonan, professors at the University of Kansas and SPDG Program Evaluators, will delve into how to gauge whether the content the participants will be expected to implement, whether it be an evidence-based practice, program, or curriculum, is being shared in a way that will result in fidelity of implementation.
We will also have an opportunity to explore what true engagement with families could look like now and post-COVID. How can families be treated as our biggest asset? What is possible if we help to build true partnerships between programs or schools and the families they serve? Kimberli Breen will help us envision a new kind of collaboration that could help accelerate learning post-COVID when she presents on “Strengthening Family-School Partnerships during and after COVID”.
