We received a request from a member of our network to hear how SPDGs are training their coaches. For the May Webinar we have a great lineup of three SPDGs using different kinds of coaching and thoughtfully training those coaches to implement their coaching model with fidelity.
1) The Alabama SPDG team will be presenting how they have worked with other offices and initiatives in Alabama to have a streamlined coaching system through a unified training approach.
2) North Carolina will be describing how they have worked collaboratively with Dr. Rock at UNC-G, her OSEP scholars, the LEA district leadership (both general ed and sped staff) and their own staff to provide the background pd on the coaching continuum, then model the technology for distance coaching.
3) Dr. Gary Duhan from Oklahoma SPDG will be presenting how they have been working to manualize/concretize the kind of skills coaches should have and demonstrate.
We look forward to hearing these presentations and discussing what these strategies mean for developing your training for coaches.
