SPDG Partnerships with the PTIs/CPRCs: Building Relationships and Using Effective Practicies.
The purpose of this networking session is to provide grantees and Regional Parent Technical Assistance representatives an opportunity to learn how other projects and parent organizations are collaborating with another, how they are contracting with one another, learn about effective parent engagement strategies, and share products and resources.
During the speed share session, we’ll ask half the group to remain seated while the other half travels from person to person. Participants will pair up with another state grantee or parent agency representative for five minutes to share information with another. Note cards will be provided to capture notes, and contact information for each speed share segment in case follow-up discussions are desired. We expect to have 6 speed share rounds.
Speed Share Discussion Items
- Introduce yourself (name, state, role).
- Identify the top 1-3 activities your state has been successful with parent engagement.
- Explore how your projects make use of contracts with parent organizations (PTIs/CPRCs).
- Describe the challenges you’ve experienced collaborating with one another.
- Explain how we can build relationships with PTIs and CPRCS. What are the effective practices?
- Describe what kinds of needs assessment you did to develop your collaborative contract and action plan.
- Share product or material links.
- Share strategies for Family Engagement Dissemination.

PLC Discussion: 3-2-1 Handout (DOC). This is the facilitation process participants will use for the PLC small group discussions. We'll ask for volunteers to act as facilitators and note-takers for each group. Note-takers will capture the 3 highlights, 2 questions, and 1 action for each group. The information collected will be used in upcoming PLC sessions.
