Description: Jennifer Coffey began the session presenting highlights from Carol Trivette and Carl Dunst’s research on evidence-based professional development methods. Next, Julie Morrison explored how NIRN’s implementation drivers framework has prioritized staff competence for effective programs and practices, and examined how Guskey’s five critical levels for evaluating professional development can be used as a framework in designing effective training. Finishing session, Li Walter and Alan Wood, will presented an overview of California’s Early Reading Interventions Academy evaluation resources (program guide & implementation rubric) as implementation drivers.
Participants were strongly encouraged to review Carol Trivette’s February, 2010, presentation on effective training methods and one of the two article links found at: http://signetwork.org/content_pages/66 .
